IT’S A POLITICAL YEAR – THE FAR LEFTS’S COMMUNICATION SKILLS SHINE AGAIN

I have always been impressed by the Far Left’s (aka the Democrat Party) ability to hijack positive sounding terminology such as “progressive” and “liberal”, neither of which accurately portrays the actual direction of their policies relative to the original intent of America’s founding fathers. They are unsurpassed in the craft of re-messaging and camouflaging inconvenient past policies with politically uncomfortable outcomes and successfully painting the historically disastrous outcomes of most Marxist experiments in utopian hues that look and sound wonderful, but never become reality. With the unflagging support of the network media (aka media wing of the Democrat Party) they can very quickly transform the image of a candidate, along with his or her (or their or its or some other pronoun) policy and voting history, to appear to be totally different than what he or she actually is. There are two articles posted in Georgeeconomics.com that discuss these topics in a more comprehensive manner, “Twisted Terminology” and “The Good Morning America, Effect.”

In 2024 the Democrat makeup artists are again demonstrating their skills in the rebranding of Kamala Harris. She entered the Democrat reimaging room as the most left voting and policy espousing Senator and Vice President ever, and she is leaving the dressing room with a total political makeover which seeks to present her as a moderate.  With the ongoing glowing support from the network media, along with left wing cable and social media, this makeover will be an ongoing coordinated effort to replace the actual Kamala Harris with a scripted persona that more palatable to the voting public.  The radical re-creation of an image, such as in the case of Kamala Harris, is most effective if there is a long enough runway prior to the target election for the media wing of the Democrat Party’s repetitive regurgitation of the makeover fabrications to overtake reality.  In this case, the short runway has a high probability of running out prior to the voting public forgetting or overlooking the actual economic pain that has existed for over two years and still does. This continued pain will be a reminder of what will be the expected outcome of four additional years of the unvarnished policies of Democrat party versus the outcome of pro-growth and America first policies.

The determining factor in the success of the Democrat makeover of Kamala Harris rests on one basic factor. Will a real discussion of policies that matter outweigh Kamala’s identity political makeover (which constitutes a major element in the left’s effort to distract the voters’ attention from the economic and social upheaval created by the Biden/Harris Administration)? It is going to be interesting to see if and how the political left will be able to duck or redefine the debate regarding inflation, interest rates, the Fed’s role prior to the 2021-2022 spike versus after, the impact of irrational fiscal spending, the left’s war on fossil fuel, and the disaster on the border. Note that it is a lot easier to apply massive amounts of makeup on an overall image when exposure to policy issues is minimized. It is when the actual results stemming from policy issues are brought into the public arena that application of camouflage becomes a more difficult endeavor, especially when the economic pain that the left’s policies have inflicted have not gone away and will not prior to the next presidential election. The Democrat party will concoct a multi-myopic brew of deception designed to make it plausible that the policy failures of the Biden/Harris administration have not actually been a function of their policies. It is extremely difficult, however, to argue that the economic pain faced by the low- and middle-income wage earners, many of whom live from paycheck to paycheck, has not been their fault when those wage earners were significantly better off before those policies took effect. Regardless of how difficult it is to cover up radical policy failure, the messaging and deception capabilities of the Democrat party should never be underestimated, leading into the 2024 presidential election. The poor record of the political right in that area of expertise screams for improvement and if they do not stay totally on message, they will squander their clearly substantial positive policy advantage.
